Good morning. It has been 26,519 days since your most recent power on. You are BE4-VER-1, a prototype Aquabot developed by the Floodgates Project. Your task is fast-response flood mitigation to prevent damage to human life and property. Good luck, and remember that there is more to this strange world than fulfilling your purpose.

A quiet, relaxing puzzle game about building dams and seeking purpose. This game was made in a week for Pixel Game Jam 2024, with all art made in-house.

We are aware of some bugs that may cause jittering movement or difficulty progressing to the next level on some screens/systems. In accordance with the rules of Pixel Game Jam, we will not be editing this version past the jam deadline. However, we want you guys to have fun playing our game, so we've uploaded a post-jam version here, which should fix those bugs! If you encounter any bugs, please consider trying out the new version, and leave us a comment if you have any other issues!

(P.S. remember to click on the text boxes to advance the text! We worked really hard on the story, and we'd love for you to read it.)

Such a cool idea! I love the story behind it and the art style is beautiful and very fitting. The mechanics are fun as well, it's great that you are free to undo actions instead of having to restart every time.

Though I also came across the issue of not being able to move onto the next level (to level 3) since the Aquabot started slowly drifting off screen. I had a similar issue when I moved from level 1 to 2, since I had to walk towards the exit twice for it to switch levels.

Overall though, it's impressive you all made this game in 10 days, it's amazing! Great job :]

heyyy thanks so much! yeahhh we really wish we could fix that bug. it only came to be because we tried to make the player slide off the screen once you reached the door, but our coroutine is buggy *sobs*. there's a quick fix to get through: once you reach the door tile, move left, move right, and then undo three times and you should slide through. (we also put out a new version recently https://luxille.itch.io/be4-ver-2 if you'd rather play that tho!) thanks for stopping by!

How do you end the level?  I thought that after opening the gate on the right I'd just walk through it, but somehow I just ended up off the screen to the right without anything happening.

Oops, our bad - that seems to be a bug with the scene loading in the HTML build in certain browsers that didn't appear in the Unity editor. Thanks for catching that, and we'll release a fixed version as soon as the voting period for the Pixel Game Jam ends tomorrow. I'll let you know when it's up!

there is a little trick to getting through that bug if you run into it, although it's messy: once you reach the door tile, move left, move right, and then undo three times and you should slide through. weirdly, it only happens for some people, but we put a new version out recently (https://luxille.itch.io/be4-ver-2) if you'd rather play that! thanks for stopping by!
