Lava Chef Patch 1.5
Hello friends! I wanted to post an update from the Lava Chef kitchen and highlight some of the changes and updates we've made since the first version of our game. As we've mentioned, this game was made in 48 hours for Micro Jam 013, so the initial release was a bit rushed. Since then, we've received lots of feedback and made lots of changes!
First of all, thank you to everyone who reported that the play button wasn't working for them. It turned out to be an issue with detecting mouse clicks on different resolutions/screen sizes, which we didn't catch because we were only able to test it on our own computers. We've fixed that, and made all UI elements scale consistently across different screen sizes. If you weren't able to play the game before, we hope you'll consider giving it a try now!
We also received feedback that the controls in the volcano section are a bit unforgiving. To help with that, we've modified the collision detection with lava to be more forgiving, fixed the dash to be more consistent, and added the ability to drop an item from your inventory in case you pick up the wrong thing. We've also made it so that you can't accidentally leave the volcano empty-handed.
Aside from that, we fixed a few bugs that we hope you didn't notice :p, and added some cosmetic changes such as better z-ordering in the volcano and a death animation. We also added music and sound effects! I (luxille) procrastinated on finishing the soundtrack for this game, but we hope you like it.
